Dummy Cameras
A dummy or fake camera is an affordable way to deter a would be criminal. Ranging in price from as low as $11.00 to $26.00, this is a good alternative if you cannot afford a surveillance system right away.
Install one or two outside your home, in or outside your office or store or in open parking lot areas and criminals will think twice before preceding. Some of these dummy cameras contain a flashing red LED light which draws extra attention to the camera, particularly at night.
These fake cameras are very realistic looking and even have real video cables. Your neighbors or office staff will not even know the difference. I highly recommend getting one with the flashing LED light, they seem more realistic.
Should a crime occur, these dummy cameras won’t be of any help. But if budget is a problem, start out with one of these and put aside a new budget for actual working surveillance cameras.
